Announcement on the Mourning Ceremony and the opening of the Condolence Book for General Vo Nguyen Giap at the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the Federal Republic of Germany
General Vo Nguyen Giap, an outstanding disciple of President Ho Chi Minh, the first General and former Commander-in-Chief of the Viet Nam People’s Army, died on 4 October 2013 in Ha Noi, at the age of 103. During his time, he was loved by his fellow countrymen and admired by international friends. To honor the General and his contribution, a State Funeral for General Vo Nguyen Giap will be held from 11 to 13 October 2013. The flags at the Embassy of Vietnam in Germany will be flown at half-mast throughout his mourning time.
The Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the Federal Republic of Germany will hold a Mourning Ceremony and open a Condolence Book to both Vietnamese and foreign organizations and individuals who wish to pay tribute to the late General. The Ceremony is held and the Book is opened at the Embassy’s Residence, Elsenstraße 3, Berlin 12435 at the following hours:
- Saturday, 12 October 2013: Morning: from 10.00 to 12.30, Afternoon: from 15.00 to 17.00
- Sunday, 13 October 2013: Morning: from 10.00 to 12.30, Afternoon: from 14.00 to 17.00
- Monday, 14 October 2013: Morning: from 09.30 to 12.30, Afternoon: from 15.00 to 18.00
